On Monday each member of our group presented developed logotypes and our main aim was to pick one, which we will work on further. Our tutor helped us in picking and it was interesting to hear his opinion on the work we have done so far. After discussing all of the designs we decided to stop on the ‘variety’ made from the geometric shapes. All the other logotypes seemed to communicate not efficiently enough or conveyed the wrong message. Then we were asked to produce as many finished designs as we can, playing around with sizes, shapes, strokes, methods etc.
To be honest, that confused me a lot, as I wasn’t sure how can I change it. For me this logo seemed to be quite finished, easy for understanding and its simplicity only benefited it. I thought that adding something may lead to the loss of the original message. In other words, I was scared to overthink it.
After cleaning everything and myself from ink, I scanned and edited pictures. They came out better than I expected, letters and words are still readable, but using the ink helped to achieve the texture that made them look less flat (plus, running around the flat from one piece of paper to another was an excellent workout).
Overall, I am happy with the work I’ve done, as well as the whole project and can’t wait for tomorrow's crit to see what other members of my group had produced and listen to the feedback.
